MIIT has published images and specifications for the BYD Seagull

The specifications and images of the Seagull, a BYD-produced electric city car, were made public by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). This city automobile is expected to be released this year and will cost between $8,860 and $14,770.

The Seagull will be the BYD Ocean series' most diminutive automobile, joining the Seal, the Dolphin, the Destroyer 05, and the Frigate 07 as of this writing. According to the manufacturer, all of these cars have the same "Marine Aesthetics."

A hatchback with five doors and four seats is the BYD Seagull. It has a pretty peculiar roof spoiler for a city car and is distinguished by sharp edges on both sides.

The BYD Seagull's back door bears three distinct insignia, including Seagull, Seagull Q, and Seagull small, indicating that there would be at least three different models of the vehicle.

3,780mm long, 1,715mm wide, and 1,540mm tall describe the Seagull. It includes a 2,500mm wheelbase as standard equipment. It has wheels that are either 15" or 16" in diameter and weighs between 1,160kg and 1,240kg.

The MIIT claims that LED headlights are an optional addition for the Seagull. It is equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery from FinDreams, a BYD subsidiary. Despite the fact that its capacity is not mentioned in the documents that have been made public, local sources claim it will have a 30.7 kWh capacity. It will run a TZ180XSH motor with a 55kW rating (75hp).

Photos of the interior are also missing, although earlier leaks indicate it will resemble the BYD Dolphin.

The Seagull is probably going to shortly make its market debut in China. BYD has obviously completed its design and is getting ready to start accepting consumer orders as it was included in the MIIT announcement.
