Kai Gruenitz, head of R&D at Volkswagen, revealed some fascinating information regarding the ID Buzz. A future ID Buzz GTX will have all-wheel drive and dual motors that produce a combined 250kW (335hp). According to Gruenitz, the GTX will have a "dedicated interior, new appearance, and some additional amenities."
When the GTX will appear is unclear. But Gruenitz considered the possibility that VW would also add all-wheel drive to the standard ID Buzz.
He also mentioned the larger wheelbase ID Buzz, predicting its summer release. There will be 7 chairs in 3 rows and it will be 25 cm longer. There will be captain seats that can rotate, and the back ones will be detachable.
Volkswagen is also developing an ID Buzz camper concept for the California version. This model will probably appear in 2025.
